Tell us what matters

Because sometimes all we have left are a few photos, a short video, of someone we never thought would be gone so early. And, when rainy days come (and they always come) they are a source of sunlight and joy. Memories tell us about others. Tell us about ourselves. They make us known and feel known.

Being there so you can Remember what Matters.

Together, we’ve found our calling

The last thing I want is a performance. A film about a special day in your life shouldn’t feel like a director is standing there, telling you “Action! Cut!”. Your day needs to be lived and enjoyed by you, not by an audience. I know the moments most important to me - the birth of my children, time sitting in a tree stand with my younger brother. I wish I could have a video of that, but not with a camera in my face. Our biggest regret with our wedding was deciding not to hire a videographer. That mistake is a huge part of why I started videography. So, I’m here to make sure you have that. So that you can really see the full laugh, watch the tear slide all the way down the cheek and watch the sun set on the one day you get married.

I was born for administration, volunteering to organize every detail of a 120 person Vacation Bible School at 16. But my escape was cinema. My fondest memories were of watching movies and, more than engaging with the story, finding myself lost in great lines of writing, emotionally moving themes, powerful scores and gorgeous scenes. When I discovered photography, it clicked. I could make those scenes, evoke those feelings that meant so much to me. But the administrator in me told me I needed to do more. I could offer this to others so they could see their meaningful moments in that same emotional, cinematic way.

In Awe of creation daily

As Christians, we hold strongly to the example  Christ set. Honest, compassionate, understanding and hardworking. We serve our family, our community and our clients. We prefer to be outdoors because it's where we feel connected, grounded and remember our place. We have large families, we have 3 kids and we know the meaning of loss, too. We don't expect perfection and that comes through in how we see you and how we see your people and your day. You aren't expected to know how to pose, to feel comfortable from the first shot. Be you. Be you with your people. And live the gift of life you have. We're there to preserve what matters to you because it now matters to us.

And creation grounds us

A huge part of our perspective is trying to incorporate nature wherever is reasonable. We adore Minnesota, hiking and travel. It’s a land of great beauty and it creates so many incredible opportunities to focus on something beautiful in a gorgeous place. We’re known for how we incorporate and document nature as the setting with the focus on our clients. If you’re someone who loves a good sunset and finds peace in a forest, we’re very aligned in our vision.

But, of course, many incredible events happen indoors and we’re certainly not held back because of it. We know the flow of a room, how to identify the best light and the best space to ensure you’re getting quality, personally impactful images, always.

And the best settings are outside
